Jane and family

After nearly 18 years with Mountain Projects (MPI), Jane Harrison is retiring, leaving behind a legacy of service that has helped thousands of families across Western North Carolina.

Jane joined MPI in October 2008 with our Prevention Department. In 2013, she wrote and secured the federal grant that launched the Get Covered WNC Navigator program.

As a certified application counselor, she helped individuals and families understand their health insurance options, enroll in Marketplace coverage, apply for financial assistance and connect with the care they needed. For many, Jane was the person who helped them navigate a complicated process and access health care they otherwise may not have received.

Today, Get Covered WNC Program Manager Jan Plummer hosted a retirement celebration in Jane’s honor. Friends, family, former coworkers and colleagues filled the room to recognize her years of service.

Throughout the afternoon, people shared stories reflecting the impact Jane has had on their lives. Her daughter and grandchildren were there to celebrate, making the occasion even more meaningful.

Thank you, Jane, for your years of service to Mountain Projects and the people of Western North Carolina. We wish you the very best in retirement and look forward to seeing you soon for lunch and at Blue Ridge Books!
