Our journey of creating opportunities for local families began nearly 60 years ago.
In 1966, Mountain Projects launched one of its very first programs—the Neighborhood Youth Corps (NYC)—as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.
The program gave local youth ages 16–21 the opportunity to earn income while gaining valuable job skills through paid part-time and summer employment.
