Certified Application Counselor- Swain and Graham Counties

Are you an outgoing person with a passion for equitable access to healthcare in rural Western NC?  Mountain Projects, Inc. is immediately seeking a part time to full-time Certified Application Counselor for Swain and Graham County. This is a grant funded position.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct education and outreach to uninsured individuals and community partner agencies
  • Share information regarding the Federally facilitated Marketplace, including:
  • Eligibility requirements for federal tax subsidies and cost-sharing subsidies.
  • Eligibility for Qualified Health Plans on the FFM, Medicaid and North Carolina’s Health Choice and how to enroll in qualified health plans, Medicaid, and Health Choice on the marketplace website
  • Meet with individuals and facilitate plan selection based on the needs of the individual/family or the small business seeking health insurance coverage, assess tax implications and premium and cost-sharing requirements, application submission, renewal, and disenrollment processes.
  • Help people understand how premium tax credits work and their potential financial impact.
  • Facilitate eligibility determinations for qualified health plans, Medicaid, and Health Choice and premium tax subsidies.
  • Provide referrals to appropriate agencies, including the North Carolina Department of Insurance for applicants and enrollees with grievances, complaints, questions, or need for other social services.

Qualifications: Candidates applying for this position should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with other team members
  • Experience with Medicaid, VA, Medicare, Individual health insurance and safety net health care providers
  • Prior experience assisting clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft outlook
  • Public Speaking experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Waynesville Resale Store:

Mountain Projects, Inc. is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Donation Pickup Person. This person will assist with picking up items that have been donated to the store. Loading and unloading these items. Help with maintaining a neat and organized vehicle. Sylva Linings Resale Store:

Mountain Projects, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a part-time Retail Store Associate to provide a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. Cashier, open and close the store at designated times. Price items and restock. Assist sorting donations and help maintain a clean and orderly store.

This position has long periods of standing. Food Services

Part-Time Cook/Deliver

Come be part of a team that helps feed our children and seniors a healthy, well-balanced meal. Mountain Projects Food Service is looking for a part-time (25 to 30 hours per week) cook/deliver. Responsibilities include food preparation, kitchen clean-up, packing and transporting meals to sites and cleaning up of vehicles and carriers.

High school diploma or equivalent. A valid North Carolina driver license is required. Criminal background checks along with drug testing are required. This position receives annual/sick leave, 13 paid holidays and retirement.

Center Supervisor at Kneedler Child Development

Responsible to the Center Supervisor for implementation of the Head Start Performance Standards and North Carolina Child Care regulations pertaining to the operation of the assigned classroom.

Minimum Qualifications: Child Development Associate Certificate or Preschool Certificate

Preferred Qualifications: Early Childhood Education degree from an accredited community college

Mountain Projects is recruiting Part-Time Transit Drivers.  Must be willing to work flexible hours up to 29 hours per week.
