Senior Resource Center

The Haywood County Senior Resource Center (SRC) serves as a central hub for older adults seeking connection, support, and independence. Through social, educational, and wellness programs, the SRC enhances the quality of life for seniors across Haywood County. In addition, regional programs such as the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and Senior Companion Program (SCP) extend Mountain Projects’ reach across all seven western counties.

Guided hikes are one of many activities sponsored by the Haywood County Senior Resource Center

Collaborations, Donors & Funders

The SRC maintains strong partnerships with DSS, United Way, Haywood County Library, AARP, Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, NC Works, and the Area Agency on Aging. These partnerships expand access to services, fund essential programs, and deliver vital education to the community. Notable joint efforts included the Elder Abuse Awareness Walk, hosted on SRC grounds, and a series of educational workshops on health, safety, and financial literacy.

The Senior Resource Center thanks the following supporters for their generosity: Haywood County and the Town of Clyde for operational funding and facility support; Town of Waynesville and Town of Maggie Valley for providing facilities for Congregate Nutrition Programs; Maggie Valley Methodist Church for funding In-Home Services.

Their support helps ensure that seniors in our region have a safe, welcoming place to gather, learn, and thrive.
