WIOA

Through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, we help adults and young people access training, certifications, and support services. We cover tuition, uniforms, tools, and mileage—removing barriers so individuals can step into high-demand careers.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is landmark legislation that was signed into law on July 22, 2014. WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. WIOA helps individuals become gainfully employed and self-sufficient through training at the Community College.

WIOA is a federally funded program providing funding for education to eligible North Carolina residents, and serves low-income adults and dislocated workers who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own and are drawing employment benefits or have exhausted benefits and are not likely to return to their previous occupation.
